John and Ben did a wonderful job on our kitchen remodel. This is the second kitchen they have done for us and both were beautiful. John came up with a great design and it ended up looking exactly how I imagined. They created barriers around the kitchen, using plastic and a temporary wall with a door to keep our small children and the pets out. I was really impressed how well it worked and how easy it was to stay in the rest of the house during the renovation. We plan on continuing to use John and Ben in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking for a remodel.

We feel truly fortunate that we found John. He has worked on our home off and on for the last 3 years, totally transforming our house inside and out into a home! John remodeled 2 bathrooms (they are gorgeous!), replaced all our windows, trim and molding, put new doors in, replaced bannisters and stair posts, put all new siding on, new shutters, beautiful bay window with copper roof (not the correct term), garden window, remodeled laundry room, tore down an unnecessary wall and more!
John knew instinctively what we would like, we felt very comfortable asking his advice and usually taking it. He is extremely professional, good natured, reliable, conscientious and has great taste.

They stayed within budget, within the timeframe, and they were an absolute pleasure to have in our home. Their attention to detail was amazing, and we are thrilled with the finished product of each of our projects! They completed a children's bathroom remodel, replaced shutters, worked on some electrical and plumbing issues and more. John's first project for us was a total remodel of our kitchen. He also renovated our downstairs bathroom which stemmed from a plumbing issue that he also resolved. In addition, John has assisted with exterior work that included a new roof, siding & sunroom windows/door. His work is exceptional & the results stunning. On several occasions we've called on John for help. The most recent being a plumbing "issue" where a company proposed unnecessary repair work that would have cost us thousands. He spent a decent amount of time discussing our lifestyle needs before making recommendations about how to renovate our master bathroom. John brought lots of good ideas to the table and executed the entire job flawlessly. There was a great amount of communication about all the details. One of the things that I really like about John is his consideration about our remaining living space while under construction- he left the job site cleaned and cleared each day so that when we got home from work, we could view the progress of the job and still "live" in the adjacent parts of the house. We hired John to replace our exterior front door and add a screen door. Our primary concern was the poor seal on the old door. John gave us good advice about the type of door that would be most energy efficient and why. He removed and replaced the exterior door in one day and left no trace of the old door and side lights. He had to do some custom work around the side lights in order to fit them, and the interior looks so much better than the old. The next day John added the screen door, again doing some custom work to make it fit properly. Both doors look beautiful and the seal around the door is perfect! We will definitely work with John again. He is easy to work with, a true craftsman, and sets a fair price.

John has done various small projects over several years. From a neighbor's recommendation, we first hired him to fix a bathroom floor and install new tile. On that and subsequent projects, he's done an excellent job. He's smart, has a lot of experience to think things through and do them right, is meticulous about details, neat, clean, communicates well, sticks to his schedule, and is very reasonably priced. He's also updated our master bath w/new tile & trim work around the jacuzzi, and new Wainscoting and trim. Not wanting to tear out the whole bathroom and start over, he was quite willing to work with my ideas and offer his own so in the end it looks like a new bathroom. Most recently he has done kitchen repairs in our basement apartment due to ground water damage & sewer pipe repair, carefully removing cabinets/flooring to be reinstalled later (which saved us a lot of money), adding a new custom cabinet he built to house a sump pump and blend with the other cabinets; and, a fence to screen HVAC compressors, an idea I'd been working on that we then collaborated on. He had good suggestions and did a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again on any size project.

We hired Lazzell Design Works to renovate our downstairs bathroom. It was terribly outdated, old etc. It needed to be completely gutted. John worked diligently and consistently; We found the floor needed extra work after we ripped it up; John could do it. We needed some plumbing done in the midst of the renovation-John could handle that too. Consulting with us on every detail and caring about every detail as if it were his own bathroom, John was very professional and courteous. The bathroom is right off the kitchen and I was nervous about having someone in my space for so much of the day. John was the most unobtrusive and courteous contractor we've experienced. He cleaned up each afternoon so well we could forget the bathroom was being renovated. The end result is exactly as I imagined and then some! Our bathroom is fabulous!

Since September, John has installed marble tiles in our kitchen, installed our custom mahogany front door, fixed our back door which never closed properly, and fixed an interior door which did not latch properly. Everything was installed and/or fixed to the highest standard, and he leaves the area super clean. John's attention to detail is consistent and of designer quality. Next, he is scheduled to install our storm door and remodel our fireplace room. Then I hope to have him build our fireplace surround/mantel, among other things. We feel lucky to have someone of John's caliber to work on our house.

I hired John to replace my second floor porch and stairway/fire escape. John did a tremendous job, he pays attention to every detail and completes the job in a timely manner. John gave an accurate estimate and did all the work that was agreed to. He takes his time and does the job to perfection. I would recommend him for any type of project. I think very highly of him and will definitely hire him in the future for more projects.

John does fantastic work. He built a laundry room and remodeled the bathroom...loved both.
He will take his time and get every detail perfect. Even when you tell him that it's okay to make a short cut in one area...he just doesn't work that way. He builds it to look great and last forever.
There were things wrong I didn't know about. John could have just ignored them and finished the job, but he will always make sure everything is done right and looking great.
His pricing is reasonable, his work is the work of a perfectionist.

We were so thankful to find John. We have seen other contractors and design builders and he was by far the most enjoyable to work with. His respect as to what we were looking for and eye for design was spot on and he had ideas that we would never have thought of to utilize the space. We were very impressed how he was able to have a clean work space and at the end of every day it was cleaner then we had it before he started the job. The price of the job was also very reasonable and considering his experience and awards were very surprised. We also felt very comfortable leaving him with our house for an extended period of time. We have already recommended him to some friends. Thank you john for making our project go as smoothly and beautiful as it is. We would give 6 stars.

Our initial concern was a door that was not working correctly. John visited the house and discovered a larger issue from water damage to the framing. John was able to assess the damage and provide an estimate to fix the damage and address the issue from the original builder. The work was done professionally and quickly (over a holiday weekend no less!). My wife is happy that the door is now working and I am relieved that the damaged framing is fixed and that the issue will not happen again in the future. Thank you John!

John and Ben remodeled our bathroom, and they did a fantastic job. We wanted a seamless shower (without a curb or barrier) which creates a sleek minimalist look that makes the bathroom look larger. Everything, from the tiled shower drain to the custom shower door (needed to maintain the arch we wanted to preserve), is meticulously designed and perfectly installed.
We couldn't be happier with the results. Needless to say, we highly recommend them.
